On Tuesday, Feb. 5, Crain’s Cleveland Business and its public broadcasting partners at Ideastream will convene a summit entitled “The Utica Shale and Ohio: Getting it Right” at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, right off Interstate 271 in Cleveland’s eastern suburbs.

The summit will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a keynote address, followed by a session analyzing the up-to-date economic impact of the Utica Shale developments. It will be followed by speakers from communities most affected, sharing the challenges they faced and the solutions they reached.

Rich Cochran, CEO of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, will be the luncheon keynote speaker, addressing ways communities can balance the financial benefits with strategies to protect the land long after the drilling is finished.”

GEM Energy senior vice president Dave Blair will participate in a panel discussion during the afternoon session. The subject is the GEM Energy Combined Heat and Power System (CHP) installation at Dominion East Ohio in Cleveland.
